We
began
The JJ Nicastro Foundation after JJ passed
away tragically on July 12, 2007 at the
young age of 12. We wanted to keep JJ's
name alive in a way that would have a positive
impact on other children's lives.
We
promote
the spirit of JJ Nicastro who was loving,
caring, charismatic, sensitive and competitive.
Our
goal
is
to make a positive influence on young
students involved primarily in youth
sports and school activities. This will
be accomplished by financial support,
as well as, a mentoring program. We
will hold many events throughout the
year which can be viewed on the Events
Page.
Thank you very much for your generosity.

The JJ Nicastro Foundation annual athletic scholarship award ceremony will be held at the Gloucester House Restaurant on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 7pm. The night will consist of awarding the new athletic scholarships along with recognizing the students already being sponsored. The students range from Freshman to Seniors attending Gloucester High School for the 2011-2012 school year. The students must maintain passing grades in all classes, stay out of disciplinary situations, treat classmates, parents & teachers with resepct and give 110% in all that they do. As long as the students meet these simple criteria they will be sponsored throughout their high school career in whichever sports or school endorsed extracurricular activities they participate in. Please help us to support these students and families by attending JJ Nicastro Foundation fundraisers and/or making donations. Thank you for supporting your local students.
The JJ Nicastro Foundation is not strictly limited to only awarding scholarships, the foundation participated in The Relay for Life and dontaed money to The American Cancer Society and also gave generous donations to The Gloucester Stage Co. The JJ Nicastro Foundation is a well rounded organization that contributes to worthy causes worldwide such as the Haiti Relief Fund. We are working on a Mentor Program for the Cape Ann area. The contributions the foundation provides are vast. Donations don't always have to be monetary. If you would like to get involved please contact us.
It's expensive for families to pay for athletic fees, equipment, college and even sometimes a hearty turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. Places like Captain Carlos, Jalapenos and Gorton's, who allow us to use their establishment to raise funds, are what charity is all about. The JJ Nicastro Foundation gave back to the community this past year by giving college and athletic scholarships to deserving students and purchasing Thanksgiving dinners for families in need. Our goal is to give between $25,000-$30,000 per year in scholarships, dinners and wherever else we see fit. Your donations are giving back directly to the children of this community. It's wrong for a child not to play sports because his/her parent can't afford it. So let's make it a goal to raise enough money that all children have a chance to make the team. Thank you all for your generosity and continued support.
We are going have many fundraisers throughout the year in order to raise money for the college and youth athletic scholarships. Click here to view upcoming events. If you would like to get involved or have an event idea please go to the Contact Us page and get in touch with me.
